ALICE IN A NUTSHELL are set to celebrate the 30th ANNIVERSARY of ALICE IN CHAINS 1994 milestone EP release “JAR OF FLIES ” with an intimate tribute in the cosy confines of LYRIC’S UNDERGROUND in MAYLANDS on SATURDAY 14 SEPTEMBER. Performing "JAR OF FLIES" and AIC’s 1992 “SAP” EP in full plus a selection of AIC classic cuts. With special guest support from KEVIN CURRAN (Solo)

"And yet I fight / And yet I fight / This battle all alone / No one to cry to / No place to call home."

These are the haunting lyrics crooned by Alice In Chains' late original front man, Layne Staley, in the song "Nutshell." Though 1992's Dirt catapulted the Seattle band into mass mainstream success, this new set of softer, bluesy-folk tracks on “JAR OF FLIES” showed that they could top charts even when they weren't playing loud and hard. Released on January 25, 1994, by Columbia Records, the self-produced “JAR OF FLIES” was written and recorded over the course of just one week at the London Bridge Studio in Seattle, featuring the singles "No Excuses", "I Stay Away" and "Don't Follow"

Jar Of Flies was the first EP in music history to reach #1 on the Billboard 200, while in Australia, in a release packaged with the band’s 1992 EP “SAP”, “JAR OF FLIES” hit #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
